“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished and all the host of them… and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made” (Genesis 2:1-2).
In the creation record there is a beginning and an ending. Three times all His works of creation are emphasised as completed.
Moses repeated it, “…For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth…2 (Exodus 31:17): “for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea and all than in them is…” (Exodus 20:11)
It is refreshing to write out these simple statements again. They are simple and factual, without ambiguity. So distinct is the language that we wonder how the present anxiety has ever arisen. The word have an indisputable simplicity.
Theistic evolution has varied concepts but its origin as a philosophy is rather consistent Some in Christian churches have been troubled that Darwin’s doctrine of evolution has led to a great increase in atheism and they sought, therefore, to find a way to reading the Scriptures that would allow evolution and the Bible to be compatible. But Theistic Evolution also has no beginning and no ending and no demonstration of the living God in its philosophy and theories. When the going gets tough it is to the theories of science that men go to find explanation for the Creation. Text books of science become the fountain of knowledge. “Genesis” is re-written into the fables of the ancient world.
