For many years Bro. John Martin’s character studies were a highlight of the Glenlock Bible Camp. A particularly memorable study was that on the prophet Elijah, this book being based on the notes for that study series. “Elijah the Tishbite” is primarily a verse-by-verse commentary on the relevant sections of 1&2 Kings. Useful additional material is also included (two examples being a concluding essay on the work of Elijah around the time of Christ’s return, and a comparison of Elijah and John the Baptist). The text is accompanied by a variety of illustrations – engravings, photographs, drawings, timelines and maps.
