In Jewish tradition, Elijah is the most popular, most dramatic and most important among the prophets. He made his mark on biblical history, appearing without warning and then departing in a blaze of glory. His life is exceptional in so many ways, climaxing in a spectacular act of divine intervention when he spoke to the Lord Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration. Few characters inspire, challenge and stir us up as does Elijah – Prophet of the Living God.
