Micah prophesied at a critical point in Jewish history – when the northern power of Assyria threatened to remove God’s appointed rulers from Jerusalem. Micah warned of impending judgements, and called on the people to review their faith in God. The prophet also showed how God’s power would ultimately be revealed in the work of the Saviour, God’s appointed Shepherd-King, and to Israel’s restoration.

This much-neglected prophecy receives a detailed and well researched treatment. Micah prophesied as a contemporary of Isaiah but his message is less well known. The book guides the reader carefully through his message, which is given strong direction by the references to the work and mission of the Lord Jesus Christ.
